Trust Signals Checklist
Work through every signal. Check what's done. Flag your gaps. Fix what you can before you publish — note the rest for Week 2.
01 Professional Email Address
A Gmail or Yahoo address signals you haven't fully committed. Get one that matches your domain. Google Workspace starts at $6/month.
My email uses my business domain, not Gmail or Yahoo
My professional email is visible in the header or footer of every page
02 Real Photos of You
People hire people. They want to see who's behind the business. Natural light, relaxed expression, something that actually looks like you.
I have at least one real photo of me on my website
The photo is clear, well-lit and current
I'm not using stock photos of strangers to represent my brand
03 Clear Contact Information
If someone can't figure out how to reach you, they won't. One clear contact method, visible in the header or footer on every page.
My contact info is visible in the header or footer of every page
I have a Contact page or a clear contact section
There is one clear way to reach me: email, form or booking link
04 Credentials and Experience
Lead with proof that speaks to your ideal client's specific fear. Credentials aren't just degrees — they're proof you've been in the room.
My About page includes specific, relevant credentials
I'm showing proof of why I'm the right person, not just what I do
At least one piece of proof addresses my ideal client's biggest hesitation
05 Social Proof
One specific testimonial beats ten generic ones. A transformation in someone else's words does what your own copy cannot.
I have at least one testimonial on my website
My testimonials include a specific result, not just general praise
Testimonials include the person's name and ideally their photo or title
Social proof appears near at least one call to action
06 Consistent Visual Identity
Inconsistency creates friction visitors can't name. Same fonts. Same colors. Logo in the header on every page. Look intentional.
I'm using the same fonts consistently across all pages
My color palette is consistent throughout the site
My logo or wordmark is in the header and links to my homepage
Buttons look the same across the site
07 Working Links and Current Content
Before you publish: click every link, every button. A broken link says this person doesn't pay attention to detail.
All navigation links work and go to the right pages
All CTA buttons link to the correct destination
Dates and time-sensitive content are current
Social media links go to active, up-to-date profiles
08 SSL Certificate
The padlock in the browser bar. Non-negotiable. Most platforms handle this automatically — confirm it before you launch.
My site URL shows https:// not http://
If I take payments, I display security badges near checkout
Your Score
8 / 8
You're ready. Hit publish.
5 – 7
Strong foundation. Prioritize gaps near your CTA and ship. Fix the rest in Week 2.
Under 5
Spend another day here. These gaps cost you trust at the exact moment someone is deciding to reach out.
